ROADSIDE DITCH TREATMENT

Treatment of ditches along county roadways is an important mosquito control activity. Mosquitoes can utilize these ditches when water is stagnant and not flowing, and these areas become a concern in May through September. A product specific to mosquito larvae is applied to standing water within ditches and does not affect other aquatic organisms. Treatments of roadside ditches most often occur following significant rain events during the late spring and summer.
