House Numbers
Address Numbers are assigned to provide uniformity throughout the county. They are used by Police, Fire, EMS, Postal Officials, as well as private citizens.
An application is available online. The entire process usually takes less than 5 business days, and assures residents of correct addressing for 911 emergency responders. Midland County charges a fee of $75 for each assigned address.
Residents should plan to make the address the first step in any new construction project. The house number is needed before building permits, well, water, and septic permits, driveway permits, and permits for electricity through Consumers Energy. A county ordinance requires homeowners to display numbers using 3" block style letters visible from the road (preferably at the edge of the driveway in rural areas).
