Onsite Septic Systems


In areas where municipal sewer services are not available, homeowners must rely on sewage (septic) systems to meet their needs. More than 1.2 million Michigan homes have onsite sewage systems.


Instructions and applications for onsite septic systems are available below:

Note: Applications must be printed and submitted to the Midland County Department of Public Health (Online applications for well and septic permits are not available at this time).


Septic Systems:


Land Evaluation Percolation (Perc) Test: This service is provided for a prospective purchaser of a parcel of land to determine if any limitations exist for the installation of an on-site sewage disposal system.
