Public Health Preparedness & Emergency Response


The Midland County Department of Public Health plays an important role in preparing the Midland community to respond to and recover from public health threats and emergencies.


Key elements of public health preparedness include:

• Planning for public health emergencies, and practice of response plans

• Early detection and identification of health threats 

• Timely access to information

• Reliable communication systems

• Collaborative partnerships within the community to promote effective response to public health emergencies.

• Coordination with neighboring local health departments and state resources for planning, preparation, and response activities.
