Adult Mosquito Control
Midland County Mosquito Control begins nighttime mosquito treatments in the summer after spring larval control efforts.
As a service to the community, we offer a treatment map by township to see when we’ll be in your neighborhood. This operation begins in mid-May and continues into September.
What is “Adult Mosquito Control”? Typically, this is the treatment you see coming from the mosquito control trucks after sunset. Indicated by the flashing lights and fog coming out of the spray unit. The ULV material we use is MasterLine Kontrol 4-4 for mosquitoes, flies, and gnats. This product was chosen after careful consideration of pollinators and other sensitive environmental factors. For more information regarding our materials and fogging practices please contact us at (989) 832-8677.
Our fleet is equipped with ultra-low-volume (ULV) fogging units which dispense a very fine mist which targets flying adult mosquitoes. The trucks go out after sunset which is prime time for mosquitoes and also when the pollinators are done for the day. This mist does not pose a great risk for pollinators due to their large body size although we do our best to maintain a 300ft radius from bee hives regardless of the low risk.
In order to keep the pollinators safe and our efforts effective, we routinely calibrate our machines to ensure the mist size is accurate.
