Birth records for births occurring in Midland County are available beginning in the year of 1867. In order for the birth record to be on file in Midland County, the birth must have occurred in Midland County. Birth certificates are not public records. They are confidential records and available only to the person or parents of the person named on that record. Additional documentation will be required of applicants stating they are an heir or legal guardian of the person named on the record.
To obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate you will need to come into the Office of the County Clerk. You can also fill out the following form and send it by mail with a check or money order or you may fax it along with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover are accepted).
- A current, valid driver's license or state issued ID, for identification purposes, is required for birth certificate requests.
- Certified copies, with the raised seal, are $14.00 for the first copy. Each additional certified copy of the same record, requested at the same time is an additional $6.00.
