Court Security

Safe and secure access to Courts for all parties, including the judiciary, defendants, and the public is entrusted to the Midland County Sheriff's Office. To provide this security, the Sheriff employs three full-time and one part-time deputy.

The Court Security division is charged with screening every person who enters the courthouse for weapons and contraband. They maintain order in the courtrooms where all parties are gathered to settle their matters. When needed, Court Security arrests and remands into custody anyone who violates the terms of their probation or parole. They also are charged with swearing and signing of arrest warrants. Court Security patrols the perimeter of the courthouse for suspicious activity.
